Break the Cycle—Build the Relationships You Deserve, and Create a Future You’re Excited to Share.
Individual Therapy for Adults in New York Who Feel Anxious, Stuck, or Misunderstood in Relationships.
Let me guess…
You scroll through Instagram—past the highlight reels of couples’ trips, anniversary announcements, and family dinners—and that familiar ache settles in your chest.
Your professional life is thriving, but your relationships? Not so much.
You’ve been hurt, and it’s affected your ability to form healthy connections where you feel safe, seen, heard, and validated. Opening up—being truly vulnerable—feels like a struggle, and you know it’s keeping you stuck and alone.
It’s not that you haven’t tried. Your dating app profiles are thoughtfully crafted. You’ve been open, set boundaries, and “put yourself out there” exactly the way your best friend suggested. You’ve dated people who looked good on paper, people who gave you butterflies, and people who seemed different from those who came before. You’ve invested a significant amount of time, energy, and effort into making your relationships work.
Yet somehow, you keep ending up in the same place—single, frustrated, and wondering where you went wrong.
That’s where therapy comes in. And that’s where I can help.
Hi!
I’m Aaron, a pre-licensed, Manhattan-based counselor-in-training, helping individual New Yorkers thrive in work, life, love, and everything in between!
Therapy is a transformative experience that peels back the layers of your life and relationship patterns, revealing what’s working and not working. Together, we’ll process your previous hurts, unlearning and reshaping unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. Our collaboration will leave you able to form the close connections you’ve longed for your whole life.
My Approach
Imagine our therapy sessions as focused, friendly chats. I’m here as your supportive advocate and listener, encouraging you to take a fresh look at your past, present, and future. Together, we'll dive into your life experiences, discovering how they connect and shape one another, helping you gain self-awareness and build the confidence to create the future you seek.
What You Can Expect
Tailored Just For You
Everyone is unique. We’ll discover what works best for you, not someone else.
Laid Back & Informal
I believe that therapy should feel comfortable, relaxed, and welcoming. Throughout our sessions, you'll likely go through a range of emotions, and we'll navigate those together.
Progress At Your Own Pace
Therapy isn’t a race, but also needs to move towards progress! We’ll move forward at a pace that feels both comfortable and challenging for you, all within a safe and supportive space.
Tangible Problem Solving
I often assist clients with addressing immediate issues before tackling deeper, more entrenched concerns. I employ narrative and solution-focused interventions, and many clients find that a mixed therapeutic approach—leveraging my skills as a coach—is very beneficial.
Imagine getting a text from someone you're seeing and smiling—instead of spiraling.
That’s what’s possible after our individual therapy sessions.
How I Can Help

I totally get that working in New York City comes with its own set of challenges. Workplace culture can be cutthroat and competitive, and it’s easy to feel stressed, exhausted, and unappreciated by your boss or teammates. When you throw remote work into the mix, it can sometimes lead to misunderstandings and feelings of isolation.
No matter where you are in your career journey, I’m here to help you find satisfaction in your career and help you navigate any transitions you may face. Sometimes, all it takes to find fulfillment in your work is a little shift in perspective; other times, you might discover that a new opportunity or a fresh industry is just what you need!

Self-determination plays a wonderful role in shaping who we are, who we love, and how we choose to express ourselves. Being a performing artist or anyone in a high-visibility role is a unique experience that few fully appreciate. Your job might come with its own set of pressures to always be “on” that you feel you must prioritize above everything else. I’m here to offer a safe space for you to let go of all that, working alongside someone who truly understands the lived experiences of performing artists, or other individuals in high profile roles.
Whether you’re proactively seeking support to find balance in your life or you're in urgent need of emotional assistance, know that I’m here for you. This is a place where you can step away from the expectations and influence, allowing yourself to simply be the amazing person you are—stressors and all—beyond your professional role.
A Therapeutic Space for Safety and Belonging
As a white, heterosexual male therapist-in-training, I am aware that my identity may evoke complex feelings—particularly for those who have experienced harm in relationships with men. I approach this awareness with seriousness and intentionality.
My practice is informed by cultural humility, a commitment to ongoing self-reflection, and an understanding of how systemic power dynamics can influence the therapeutic relationship. I strive to create an environment where every aspect of your identity is acknowledged, your boundaries are upheld, and your voice is fully heard.
Together, we can work 1:1 toward fostering relationships that align with your needs and values, rather than repeating past relational patterns.

Couples therapy focuses on the dynamic between two people in a romantic relationship, holding sessions with multiple people present. Our individual therapy sessions focus on your patterns across all relationships (friends, family, partners, etc.) and only one client is present for sessions. During these sessions, we'll explore how your past experiences shape your current connections, help you understand what you truly need in relationships, and develop skills to create healthier relationships as a whole.

I am a pre-licensed counselor-in-training currently completing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. As a counselor, I'm here to support you in exploring your unique experiences, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. Together, we can uncover new insights that may help you understand your relationship challenges and inspire positive changes. Through our work, I can help you identify patterns, challenge any false beliefs, and tap into the resources already within you. I also offer guidance and education when it's helpful.
-
I offer a free 15-minute consultation call where we can discuss what brings you to therapy, I can answer any questions you have, and we can get a sense of whether we'd work well together. The therapeutic relationship is incredibly important, so this initial conversation helps ensure we're a good match before proceeding.
-
If it feels like a good fit, we can go ahead and schedule a 50-minute initial session. This will give you a great opportunity to experience what it's like to work with me, and we can talk about how to focus our therapy sessions moving forward. If it turns out we're not quite the right match, no worries at all; there's no obligation to continue after this first meeting.
-
Our first session focuses on getting to know each other. I'll ask about your relationship history, current challenges, and what you're hoping to gain from therapy. You'll have space to share what feels important and ask questions. By the end, we'll have a clearer picture of your goals and how we might work together to achieve them.

I am based in Manhattan, NYC. I offer secure virtual sessions for clients who live anywhere in New York State.

My standard fee is $120 per session. This fee is set with the aim of keeping therapy accessible while valuing the professional service provided. However, I offer the flexibility to work within your specific budget. I can provide a superbill to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement upon request.
Please note: If you’re currently experiencing financial hardship, I have sliding scale spots available, which offers flexibility on the cost-per-session. Use the contact form to inquire.
-
Yes, I offer a sliding scale fee structure for those facing financial limitations. I understand that my standard fee may be challenging for some, and I genuinely want to make therapy accessible to as many people as possible. We can discuss your specific situation during our initial consultation.
-
I do not accept insurance directly, but I am eligible for out-of-network coverage. This means you pay for services upfront and then can apply for reimbursement from your insurance provider. Many clients with PPO plans receive between 50-80% reimbursement once their out-of-pocket deductible has been reached. I encourage you to check with your insurance provider about your specific coverage for out-of-network mental health services.

I believe that many of our challenges have a mix of internal and external factors at play. It's so important to me that everyone, regardless of their racial, ethnic, sexual, or gender identity, has access to care that is not just affirming but also reflects our rich diversity. As a proud LGBTQ+ ally, I strive to cultivate a warm and welcoming atmosphere, always prioritizing a sex-positive approach. I also wholeheartedly support those who choose non-traditional lifestyles or engage in polyamorous and ethical non-monogamous relationships. I'm dedicated to continuous learning, reflection, and taking action to actively challenge and dismantle racism, homophobia, ageism, ableism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination.
